The House of Echoes

The House of Echoes is an interactive fiction game I created using Python. It’s my first Python project, designed to help me learn more about programming and storytelling. The player takes on the role of a distant relative of the Eldred family,  who mysteriously vanished years ago. Drawn to the Eldred Manor by a strange letter from an estranged grandmother, Alex must uncover the truth behind the family’s dark history to break a lingering curse.

The gameplay involves exploring the manor, solving puzzles, interacting with trapped souls, and uncovering pieces of a ritual text. The player must decide how to handle the eerie presence of The Whisperer, a malevolent entity while piecing together the family’s tragic tale. The choices made influence the outcome, leading to multiple possible endings.

This project is an immersive text-based experience, utilizing Python to handle player input, control story progression, and present the mysteries of the Eldred family in a spooky, atmospheric manner.
